QuickTime player can play WAV and MP3 files without any special considerations. The codecs to decode them are built into the player. The only consideration for your client will be file association settings in the OS. What kind of computer is your client using?

Your client likely has file association settings that are opening WAV and MP3 files with other apps besides QuickTime player. Although it's possible to manually open files with different apps on any system, if you were to change or add the file extension .mov to the files you send to your client, they should automatically associate with QuickTime player on Windows.

Apple has announced it will no longer support QuickTime for Windows for security reasons. Experts are recommending users uninstall the program completely. Windows Media Player will play both .wav and .mp3 files.
