The V12 Delahaye was a fascinating thing...
Like the DAF Daffodil. it had the same gearing forward as reverse, in the case of the Delahaye, thanks to a Cotal transmission.
If you wanted to drive a V12 backwards, you had the same gearing and mechanical top speed as forwards. -Madness!
