Just got off the phone with the only other Presto three track owner that's come out of the woodwork. Thank you Instagram. He's in So Cal and his machine came from Chess Records. According to him it is indeed a Sel Sync... yay.

He also has a contact for parts and that guy is about two hours south of me, so again, yay.

awesome! Sel-Sync on that machine is a game changer. Live-to-two-track band or orchestra on two tracks, vocal or instrumental overdub on the third!

Here is a panorama picture of Mr. Scott's room. Apparently if you think you have too much equipment you are wrong.
I suspect that is the "Wall of Dazzle" on the left

Well I go to pick her up today... of all days it had to be tax day... double whammy! At least this is a positive!

We only have to carry her down 3 flights of stairs! I'm really get too old for this. Ha ha

Very excited. Can't wait to get the mods done on the console now.

"The composer must bear in mind that the radio listener does not hear music directly. He hears it only after the sound has passed through a microphone, amplifiers, transmission lines, radio transmitter, receiving set, and, finally, the loud speaker apparatus itself." —Raymond Scott, 1938

I was thinking the exact same thing.  Protect that piece of history (and, of course, yourself and the people helping).

Thanks for the advice guys. Three guys carrying it down the stairs, of course the old guy got the heaviest part.  Who do you think the old guy is?  Ha ha. Good thing I've been doing the 21 Day Fix since last August... not only did I lose 45 pounds, I now have my muscles built back up.

My wife wil never let me defer paying taxes... she handles the books. I'm smart enough not to argue. She allows me to keep "working" in this industry.

Some money went our for bad things today, some went out for this... this is a good thing!  Or at least what Alan said, "adventure"...

I haul the whole shooting match down down to Ken McKim next week.  Modding the console and making sure everything is in tip top shape. Can't wait to get it all up and running together.

also, I'll reiterate--

If word gets out that you have that rig, you could develop quite a little niche business there if you're within reasonable driving distance of NYC (which I think you might be, but I don't remember)

Raymond Scott is a distant relative by marrige of mine. His son is a filmaker and made a documentary. I think it was self released. I was a bit dubious but it turned out really well. I'll have to dig the name of it out.

The setup looks awesome Larry.
