Not my usual line of work, but I need some sort of VI that has good sounds for EDM drums. Anybody have a favorite?

Thanks.

For the all-important 4-on-the-floor kick, I recommend Big Kick and perhaps a few of the expansion packs. It does one thing, but it's crucial to the music and I haven't found a need to search elsewhere yet, Cheap, too.
Arturia Spark has a lot of things that might help with the rest, among many other fine choices.

P.S. Don't forget to tune the kick to the song key. Makes a big difference to the cognoscenti.

I don't have a favorite VI (I tend to use outboard gear as well as the built in stuff in Logic).

However, I will generally recommend that if you stick to the classic Roland machine sounds - 808, 909, 303, etc.

Also probably worth checking out:

it's not my usual line of work either, but if its any help:

this is a great drum sampler, lots of useful features. cheap, and the dev is a great, helpful guy:

and then there's this thing, which i've only tried out for a second or two, but it seems like it'll be really cool for making the electronic musics:

both of those come with a ton of samples...

Hey Seth, reading about your EDM endeavor, makes me think to point you at splice.com 's free plugin section. It's just a site that organizes links for plugins, but there are some useful soft synths, and weird techno type effects categorized.
