I have a big pile of great books that I will probably finally read when I'm confined to a hospital bed with 2 broken legs.  One of them is about implementing change and it's written by a couple of people from Harvard.  One thing they talked about very early in the book is that--the way things are now--you can say something to certain people (a lot of them) and they won't even hear you say it, or will interpret it as something totally different.  Scary.
